Presque Isle State Park

1 of 3

Presque Isle State Park, one of Pennsylvania's best, is located on a peninsula that bends out into Lake Erie, forming Presque Isle Bay. Many tourists come here to gather colorful "sea" glass that has washed ashore.

The eleven miles of sandy beaches on Presque Isle in Lake Erie are the major lure for the numerous tourists that visit, but there are several less visible things to keep visitors busy. You may attempt kite flying at Sunset Point or go hiking, skating, or cycling around the island's perimeter on the Karl Boyes Multi-purpose National Recreational Trail. Presque Isle offers everything you'd expect from a vacation to the beach: sandy beaches, loads of outdoor activities, and that one individual who has been out in the sun for far too long.
